Community school term dates for 2027/28 The dates below and those shown on the school term date calendar (PDF, 134 KB)(opens new window) are set by the council for Local Authority maintained schools. Voluntary Aided (church) schools and Academies can set their own dates. Please check with these schools directly for their term dates. Autumn term | Start of term | Half term | Last day of term | Monday 6 September 2027 | 25 to 29 October 2027 | Friday 17 December 2027 Spring term | Start of term | Half term | Last day of term | Tuesday 4 January 2028 | 14 to 18 February 2028 | Friday 7 April 2028 Summer term | Start of term | Half term | Last day of term | Monday 24 April 2028 | 30 May to 2 June 2028 (bank holiday 29 May) | Friday 21 July 2028 The proposed return date for the start of the Autumn term 2028 is Monday 4 September 2028. All dates are inclusive. Three days within the above terms are to be used for professional development for school staff.
