Add school term dates to your phone calendar

A calendar subscription puts school dates beside the plans you already keep. Start by finding your school or authority, check the academic year and school-scope warning, and open the calendar action beside the dates.
Subscribe or download?
A downloaded ICS file is a snapshot. Importing it copies the events available at that moment. A subscription stores the feed's web address so your calendar application can check it again for changes. Your calendar provider controls how often that happens; a corrected date may not appear immediately.
TermMinder's public authority feeds contain the published calendar years available for that authority. The feed can include more than the year currently selected on the page. Use Print for a paper calendar of the selected year.
Apple Calendar
On an iPhone or iPad, open Calendar, choose Calendars, then Add Calendar and Add Subscription Calendar. Paste the feed address. In iOS 26, choose Find and finish adding the calendar; older versions may use Subscribe. Choose iCloud as its account if you want the subscription available on devices using the same Apple Account. Apple's subscription instructions cover the version-specific steps and removing a subscription.
You can also use the page's webcal subscription link where your device supports it. If the link does not open an application, copy the HTTPS feed address and add it manually.
Google Calendar
Use Google Calendar in a computer browser. Beside Other calendars, choose the add option, then From URL. Paste the public HTTPS feed address and add the calendar. Google documents this in its public-calendar instructions. Adding this kind of subscription is not available directly in the Google Calendar phone app; once added to your account, check the calendars shown in the app.
Check the calendar's scope
An authority feed is useful for planning, but it is not confirmation of a named school's dates. Academies and some other schools may choose different dates. Staff training days appear only where the source actually lists them. Check the school's own website before booking around a first pupil day, last pupil day or possible INSET day. If you need dates for two authorities, subscribe to both and give them distinguishable names or colours. Keeping their identities visible helps you notice differences rather than assuming that both children have the same break.
If a date looks wrong
Compare the event with the current TermMinder page and its linked official source. If your calendar shows an older value, check its refresh settings. If the source or school differs, use the correction link beside the dates. A feed subscription does not sign you up for TermMinder email or push messages.
