Term 2 (10 weeks)# Tuesday 27 April to Friday 2 July 2027 (94 half days). Public holidays: King’s Birthday – Monday 7 June, Matariki – Friday 25 June. Term 3 (10 weeks)# Monday 19 July to Friday 24 September 2027 (100 half days). Term 4 (up to 10 weeks)# Monday 11 October to no later than Friday 17 December 2027 (up to 98 half days). Public holiday: Labour Day – Monday 25 October. Half-day opening requirement 2027# Primary, intermediate and specialist schools are required to be open for instruction for a minimum of 376 half days in 2027. Secondary and composite schools are required to be open for instruction for minimum of 376 half days in 2027. Schools have flexibility to choose the start and end dates of their school year, so long as they start between Thursday 28 January and Wednesday 3 February, and end no later than 17 December 2027. Unused curriculum half-days# If schools do not use the curriculum half-days granted by the Minister of Education, the minimum half-day requirement reverts to: 380 for primary, intermediate and specialist schools 380 for secondary and composite schools. 2027 school holidays# Term 1# Saturday 10 April to Monday 26 April 2027. Public holiday: Anzac Day observed on Monday 26 April. Term 2# Saturday 3 July to Sunday 18 July 2027. Term 3# Saturday 25 September to Sunday 10 October 2027.
